Meeting Up

If everyone really wants to meet up. I can do it at the Ocean Campus MWF from 10am-12pm or after 1pm and TR after class. It's up to all of you. What times are you all available?

I can't format comments to publish without clicking on the comments link so don't forget to do so if you've asked folks a question or made a post that otherwise requests a reply. There's no comment moderation so... let fly!

Nada, I'm done w/classes by 11AM and am usually at the library until 2PM or so monday thru thursday. Friday I'm not at Ocean at all unless I need the library. Saturday I'm at the library from open to close.

That mat change as I need to dig up sources for this paper, there's not alot of stuff at Rosenberg.

I think we'll be okay to assign different tasks re: the group work until after midterms, or at least until people have rough drafts. We can run things like peer review in an English class. Real time or on the web, pro'ly at least one real time meeting so we can dig into each others work.

I'll ask Dr. C. if a 3 ring binder is a sufficient binding. I hope so!

In the mean time I don't even have a complete bibliography yet, much less an annotated one, yikes!

skype

Folks might like to set up a skype account; give it a try to at least see if it'll work on your computer.

Conference calls could help in overcoming geographic/travel challenges, i.e. you can attend a group study session disembodied from any particular location. You can also be included on a skype conference call with your celly or your landline.

writing standards and style

While I'm being bossy I thought we should agree upon format style so we can begin writing from the go in sync and not have to reformat as we approach publication.

1) I suggest MLA reserach paper standards, 7th edition. The "friends of the library" bookstore has a couple of older editions for sale for $1, 5th and 6th, the updates in the 7th mostly have to do with citing web sources.

2) 12 point, Times New Roman, 1 inch margins all around, 0.5 inch headers and footers, MLA page numbers with your name.

3) Save all files in .doc NOT .docx. Only the latest version of Office can open .dotx files, I don't have the latest version and I'm sure more than a few of us don't as well.
